Terms of Use — Beta

Last updated: October 18, 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and [[OPERATOR LEGAL NAME]] ("we", "us") for using MusioStudio. They are short on purpose. MusioStudio is in a beta: a small group of teachers is using it before it opens to everyone, and these terms are written for that stage. When that changes, these terms will change with it, and we will tell you first.

Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and what we do with it. It is part of these terms.

Who we are

What MusioStudio is

MusioStudio is software for running a music studio. A teacher sets lessons, students record short practice takes and send them in, the teacher listens and replies, parents follow along, and lessons are booked, moved and reminded about in one place.

Each studio is run by its own teacher. The teacher decides who joins, what is taught and when lessons happen. We provide and run the software; we are not a party to the lessons themselves, and we do not teach, grade or supervise anyone.

The beta

Accounts

You need an account to use MusioStudio, and each account is for one person. Keep your sign-in to yourself, and tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

Teachers create the accounts for their students and the students' parents. Anyone using a student or parent account agrees to these terms by using it.

If you are a teacher

You agree that you will:

You are responsible for your lessons, your teaching, and your relationship with your students and their families, including any fees you charge them.

If you are a student or a parent

Use MusioStudio for your lessons with your teacher. Record only yourself (or, as a parent, help your child record themselves). Do not share another family's information, and do not try to see anything the app has not shown you.

Your content

What you put in stays yours. Recordings, photographs, notes, lesson plans and anything else you or your students add belong to whoever made them, or to whoever they belong to now.

So that MusioStudio can work, you give us permission to store, copy, process and show that content only to the people the app lets see it — for example, a student's recording to that student, their teacher and their linked parents — and only for running MusioStudio. This permission ends when the content is deleted, apart from copies kept for the short time described in our Privacy Policy. We do not sell your content, use it for advertising, or use it to train artificial intelligence.

Material we provide — for example, the curriculum and practice-tour clips that come with the app — is for use inside your studio on MusioStudio.

Connected services

Some features use other companies' services, under those companies' own terms:

We are not responsible for those services, and they may change or stop without us being able to prevent it.

Things you must not do

Do not use MusioStudio to break the law or anyone's rights; upload anything harmful, abusive or sexual, or anything about a child that is not part of their lessons; try to get into accounts, data or parts of the system that are not yours; copy, resell or take apart the software; or overload or disrupt it.

Ending

You can stop using MusioStudio at any time. A teacher can ask us to close their studio, and anyone can ask us to delete their account; we will do it as our Privacy Policy describes.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts students or the service at risk. Where it is fair and safe to, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix it.

No promises, and limits

MusioStudio is a beta and is provided "as is". We work hard to keep it running and to keep your information safe, but we do not promise that it will always be available, free of errors, or that nothing will be lost. Keep your own record of anything you cannot do without — especially lesson times. A reminder or calendar entry the app sends is a convenience, not a guarantee.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost income, data or opportunity, and our total liability to you for anything to do with MusioStudio is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and US$100. Nothing in these terms limits anything the law does not allow to be limited.

Changes to these terms

We will update these terms as MusioStudio grows — in particular before we start charging, and before studios can add students under 13. If a change matters, we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. Carrying on after that means you accept the new terms; if you do not, you can stop.

The law that applies

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, and any dispute will be handled by the courts in Los Angeles County, California — unless the law where you live gives you the right to have it handled there.
